This is a 5-day training for all technical watchkeeping teams. It will comprise a combination of classroom attendance and practical “hands-on” exercises in the simulator. During the exercises in the simulator the course attendees will practice everything one has learned during the lessons.
The program is designed around short but intensive sessions with several interesting case studies from the maritime industry, aviation -and medical care. Attendees will learn about the 7 key elements of ERM and how they can make a crucial operational difference:
Communication – Situational Awareness – Decision Making – Teamwork – Leadership – Managing Stress – Emergency Response
Upon completion of this training, the course attendees are fully aware of how to apply ERM in the execution of their assigned responsibilities. Moreover, they will have gained the knowledge to build a strong ERM system including briefings, checklists, SOP’s, professional communication skills, managing workload, applying the correct emergency procedures and… most important of all; they will have learnt how to recognize clues that can culminate into an undesirable event or an emergency and to challenge such situations appropriately.
The training can be delivered in The Netherlands at one of our partner training institutes, or any other facility where an engine room simulator is available.
